BODYWORK

"...From shamanic cultures around the world we are familiar with initiation rites used to mark transition phases... All of these rites are designed to mark the death of an outdated reality or role and the passage into a new understanding and focus in life. In ancient Polynesian traditions bodywork was very much an integral part of this. It was used as a medium to expand and accelerate one's awareness and ability to move past blockages of any kind (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual) into accessing the wealth of resources, knowledge and understanding available within you..."

By Bodywork I mean a MA-URI massage session that is more than a physical (muscle-soothing, skin-toning) massage. Different intention, different focus... I might rather say it is a session using the Ma-uri dances and

a hands-on technique to touch the soul and the spirit.

For our body, soul and spirit are inter-connected, influencing and expressing through one another. If you fall asleep and are able to relax, or get an inspiring dream, or feel moved and shed tears on the massage table it is not merely a physical massage any more. But Ma-uri Bodywork can do more than that.

Our very existence happens on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels at the same time. A sudden stimulus of the body triggers emotional responses. A certain impact on the feelings causes the mind to decide what action should the body take. We enter an energy field and produce emotional / physical / mental / spiritual reactions.

We respond to the world on all levels. And remember on all levels!

These memories, however, we are not conscious of all the time. They can be filed away, surpressed and forgotten if too old or painful. Then imagine: since we are carrying them filed away (conscious or not) they can be inherited! A lovely kineziologist friend has told me recently:

The brain is not in the head. It is in the cells.

Well then... What if the behavioral patterns, the familiar reactions, the belief system I live with are not even mine? What if patterns and beliefs that are hindrances in my present life can be cleared away? Oh... and what if I will not pass my self-imposed limitations to my children?

The MA-URI Bodywork (Massage) touch was developed to address these "storages" in the body and releise their blocking the free flow of energies and our lives.

Sometimes it is thoughts, ideas. Insight, inspiration... Sometimes emotions. Sometimes the body reacts with a shudder or flinch... It is always what is best to happen then and there. The only thing certain is that

life is not going to be exactly the same after the Bodywork session.

MA-URI Therapists are Navigators. We are here to facilitate self-healing. The dances, postures, connectedness and other principles are to create the appropriate channel and flow of energy. It is YOU and your INTENT.

Blessed be those moments where we ask of the Spirit

To be cleansed by the Sea and change
To be nurtured by the Land and grow
To be shone upon by the Stars and remember
To be empowered by the Dream and sail
To be danced by the Spirit and know
To be touched by Love and heal
To be blessed by the Ancestors and

walk the Truth of who we are.

In my language the word “health” is “egészség” with the parts “egész” (=whole, complete) plus “-ség” (= -ness).

Be complete! Live a truly whole, full life!
Kia Ora!
